The volume proposes a reflection on two differently oriented issues related to the intertwining of spatial metaphors with various forms of artistic activity, both in the field of literature and theatre, as well as other forms of art. On the one hand, we are interested in the ways in which the geography of the depicted worlds is shaped, and on the other hand, we propose a reflection on the extent to which art – and art institutions – contribute to the assignment of meanings in the world around us. The focus is on the range of phenomena related to humanistic geography and its possible connections with contemporary humanities. In addition to theoretical and methodological texts, the volume will also include case studies based on specific examples illustrating a wide range of possible readings of the term the geography of the imagination.
Deadline for submissions: 28 February 2026.
