Planned topics

The volume will concentrate on analyses of cultural texts devoted to the phenomenon of war. We intend to reach for the sources of European culture and directly confront them with the experiences of recent years (the war in Ukraine, the Middle East, and others). We will be interested in the crisis of language in extreme situations, social dictum (including censorship and self-censorship in statements about war), as well as individual, revealing, and sometimes controversial approaches to military conflicts. The volume will also reflect on the attitudes of the viewer and the participant of the events, the direct and distant viewer. There will certainly be a place for Ukrainian literature of the last decade, which is an example of creative exploration even in extreme situations.
