In issue 3 (74) 2023 we reflect on the functioning of the concept of “the recovered culture,” and on the cultivation of various forms of recycling in literature and art in particular. It may concern genres, motifs, and various variants of theoretical discourse in the history of literature and art, in a broad critical perspective.

We are interested in cyclicality, repetition, renewal, reuse, reproduction, multiplication, and reconceptualization, which seem to be an integral part of cultural processes. The essence of reflection is to follow, confront, analyse, and theoretically frame these processes, and their other pole ‒ striving for originality, achieving the status of a creator and / or performer, and the concept of genius.

The issue will include articles that define, justify, and challenge the subject of recycling, and shed new light on the, not yet unknown, idea of ​​recycling. There will also be space for questions about whether culture is an eternal return of the same; does recycling influence our understanding of the processes taking place in culture and art; how has the concept of originality changed in a culture in which simulacra play an increasingly important role? The topic of waste, perceived in a metaphorical sense, will also become an important research field for reflection carried from an anthropological perspective ‒ as a question of what becomes included in culture, and what is excluded from cultural circulation.
