The year 2024 marks the centenary of Władysław Reymont being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. This is an excellent opportunity to return to his works in the context of the epoch and formulate their subsequent significant recognitions, to subject the Nobel Prize winner’s texts to an in-depth and modernising reading, to devote attention to his domestic and foreign reception, as well as to analyse the past and latest adaptations of his works. Needless to say all these factors testify to the unflagging interest in the author's writing, which was a creative impulse and resulted in the aforementioned remediations.
