Planned topics

The theme of this issue will be horizontal (spatial) and “vertical” (temporal) neighbourhoods, interpersonal neighbourhoods, natural neighbourhoods. The ones by choice, by necessity, by chance, interesting, non-obvious, difficult, wanted and unwanted. The publication will discuss the relationship between us and others, their spheres of contact with us, borderland and borderline spaces, generating image stereotypes, controversies, situations of negotiating the weaker with the stronger, giving rise to dominator ambitions, as well as the desire to establish spheres of influence. All these factors entail the production of various forms of translation of this influence (adapting to it) or rejecting it, resisting it. The mechanisms operating between neighbours are important and worth naming: violence, dialogue, separation, imitation, situational alliances, betrayals and friendships. The volume will be published in cooperation with the Laboratory of Anthropological Problems of Literature at the Institute of Polish Literature of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw.
