2025 / Co-creators: aside, within, and in opposition

Tekstualia 2025, no 3 (82)

The volume will focus on the co-creators and the more or less culturally conscious role they played in the process of creating important literary works. It will discuss not only the writers’ partners (e.g. the wife of Bolesław Prus, Thomas Mann, Tolstoy, Darwin, Zapolska’s lovers), but also the figures such as the Brontë sisters, archivists of poets from the 19th to the 21st century, and authors of philological translations that were the basis for artistic translations. In the process of researching the above-mentioned relations, we will be interested in both domestic rivalries and forms of support, as well as all other types of relationships between the artists and the people co-responsible for the shape of their works. The volume will also analyse the phenomenon of ghostwriting and attempt to  distinguish between co-authorship and proper authorship.

Deadline for submissions: 15 April 2025
