No 4 (51) 2017 - Interculturality

Interculturality, multiculturality, clash of cultures? In issue 4 (51) 2017 of Tekstualia we concentrate on the concept of interculturality and its modern literary interpretations. We analyze it in light of such terms as multiculturality and culture clash. The former is related to the effacement (usually illusory) of antagonisms present in multicultural societies, the latter to the existence of powerful and insurmountable conflicts between cultures, while interculturality emerges from an authentic urge to initiate a lively dialogue between and across various cultures. These phenomena resonate obviously not only within Polish literature of the previous century but also in other linguistic and cultural fields.
