Anna and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz and Juliet Roche and Albert Gleizes corresponded irregularly in the years 1929–1948, with a more intensive period of letter exchange between August 1931 and May 1932. This time marks the beginning of a collaboration between Albert Gleizes, a painter and art theoretician, and Anna Iwaszkiewiczowa, a translator of his writings into Polish and organizer of his Polish lectures. The selection of their letters published here was preserved in the mansucript archive of the Museum in Stawisko. It is preceded by an introduction, focused on the context and the biographies of Gleizes and Iwaszkiewiczowa, followed by the editor’s note. The letters contain many details regarding this collaboration and well as the painter’s theoretical refl ections and other observations from his stay in Warsaw, Łódź and Poznań.
