ANNOUNCEMENTS

The latest issue of Tekstualia quarterly is now available on sale

Check out "Tekstualia" 2018, No. 3 (54), whose main theme is "Comparison and method. Comparative research methods". The majority of the articles in this issue of the quarterly are historically oriented.

Thanks to them, one can observe how over time the comparative method - originally used in anatomy and philological research - started to be applied to other cognitive areas, such as linguistics, sociology, anthropology, ethnography, philosophy or translation studies. Among the authors of the issue are Devin Griffiths, Associate Professor of English at the University of Southern California, Ewa Kraskowska, Associate Professor of Polish Literature at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, Olaf Krysowski, Associate Professor of Literature at the University of Warsaw, and Magdalena Filipczuk from the Ignatianum Academy. We also present a transcript of the lecture delivered on October 5, 1870 by Aleksander Nikolajewicz Wiesiełowski “On the Method and Tasks of the History of Literature as a Science” translated into Polish by Halyna Dubyk, which is a classic work reflecting on the issue of scientific evaluation of comparisons.

We also recommend literary texts: poetry by Piotr Matywiecki, Sławomir Łonisk, Małgorzata Purzyńska, Lesław Nowara, Małgorzata Grajewska, and Bartłomiej Siwec, texts by Leszek Szaruga, prose by Marek Ławrynowicz, Ola Fudala and Magdalena Róża Skoczewska, and poems by Gintaras Bleizgys translated by Zuzanna Mrozikowa.
