New issue of Tekstualia magazine is now available on sale
In the issue no. 4 (55) 2018 of “Tekstualia”, titled "Beckett in Poland”, edited by Tomasz Wiśniewski, we attempt to answer the question of what made Beckett’s work permanently penetrate the Polish culture. What is extremely important here is the specifics of the “Polish Beckett” in the context of global tendencies as well as the main directions of the evolution of the reception of the author in Poland.
We offer comparative takes on Beckett’s works with artists such as Antoni Libera and Tadeusz Kantor. We also ask which problems raised by Beckett still remain valid in contemporary literary and theatrical studies. Equally important are the perspectives that can be inspiring for the humanities of the 21st century. Also important are the perspectives that can be inspiring for the humanities of the 21st century. Among the contributors of the issue are: Stanley Gontarski, Tomasz Wiśniewski, James Knowlson (text translated by Katarzyna Kręglewska), Marek Kędzierski (article translated by Kaja Wiszniewska-Mazgiel), Ewa Brzeska, Anna Suwalska-Kołecka, Katarzyna Ojrzyńska, Miłosz Wojtyna, and Sławomir Studniarz.
Please check also our literary texts. The issue contains, among others, another fragment of Leszek Szaruga’s home chronicle “Na języki (zapiski)”, and poetry and drawings by Anna Matysiak. We also publish an elaborate discussion of „Dziady” theatre play by Teatr Wierszalin, with the participation of Piotr Tomaszuk, Tomasz Wiśniewski, Zbigniew Majchrowski, Grażyna Tomaszewska, Katarzyna Kręglewska, Olga Kubińska, Kwiryna Ziemba, Zbigniew Kaźmierczyk, Feliks Tomaszewski, Agnieszka Bednarek Bohdziewicz, and Rafał Gąsowski.
