Leleń Halszka
is a PhD in literary studies, an Assistant Professor at the Deparment of English Philology, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Her research focuses on literary, filmic and intermedia storytelling, particularly the narrative, semiotic and axiological patterns of the British novel, short story and poetry from the late 19th century to the present. She has published on George Mackay Brown, H. G. Wells, Franciszka and Stephen Themerson, John Berger, Thomas Hardy and others. Her book H. G. Wells: The Literary Traveller in His Fantastic Short Story Machine was published by Peter Lang in 2016. Member of: the Word Ethics Group of the Council for the Polish Language at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences; International Committee of the Association for Scottish Literary Studies; and European Network for Short Fiction Research.
