Jocz Artur
dr hab. professor at the University of Adam Mickiewicz (AMU) in Poznań, is a philosopher of religion and literature working in the Laboratory of Religious Studies and Comparative Research of the Institute of Cultural Studies at AMU. Scientifi cally, Jocz studies the relationship between philosophy and literature, and between religion (gnosis, gnosticism, anthroposophy, theosophy, Christian mysticism) and literature. He has published in periodicals including Przegląd Religioznawczy, Tekstualia, Poznańskie Studia Polonycznej, Ethics in Progress and in multi-author monographs.
He is the author of Mysticism and gnosis in Christian thought (from the 1st to the 17th centuries): Considerations on the Category of God, the World and Man, Poznań 1995; The case of the „Predatory Wasp”: Refl ections on gnosticism and neognosis in Polish literature at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Poznań 2009; The Gnostic Worlds of Bruno Schulz, Poznań 2016.
