Heitkemper-Yates Michael
is Associate Professor of British and American literature at Rikkyo University in Tokyo, Japan. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on graphic narrative, postmodern parody, and the theory of collage. His most recent publications include, The Practice of Narrative: Storytelling in a Global Context and Learning to See: The Meanings, Modes, and Methods of Visual Literacy. He is currently working on a monograph concerning the poetics of postmodern irony, parody, and political satire. (yates@rikkyo.ac.jp)
