Griffiths Devin

(University of Southern California), (born 1978), PhD, professor at the University of Southern California. His research examines the intersection of intellectual history, scientific literature, and the digital humanities, with an emphasis on nineteenthcentury British literature and science. The purpose of the research is to examine how literature impacts the understanding of time and natural systems. His works have been published in, for example: ELH Studies in English Literature, Nineteenth-Century Contexts, Literature Compass and Book History. He is the author of the monograph The Age of Analogy: Science and Literature Between the Darwins (2016), which examines how historical novels establish a new relational understanding of history and furnished a new comparative method, which in turn had a significant impact on the disciplinary formations of both the life sciences and the humanities. He was nominated for the British Society of Literature and Science’s book prize. He has also won the first book prize of the British Association for Romantic Studies. E-mail: devin.griffiths@usc.edu
