Meniok Wiera

(Drohobych State Pedagogical University of Ivan Franko, Ukraine), (born 1968), PhD. She is an assistant at the Section of World Literature at the Drohobych State Pedagogical University of Ivan Franko. Since 1996 her main area of interest has been Polish studies. She has published numerous academic papers, on topics that include Polish studies, e.g. concerning works of Bruno Schulz. She debuted as a translator with Ukrainian translations of Schulz’s texts written in Polish. Together with her late husband Ihor Meniok, she initiated the founding of the Polonistic Scientific Information Center at the Drohobych State Pedagogical University in 2002. Currently, she is the Head of the Polonistic Scientific Information Center of Ihor Meniok and holds the position of the Director of Bruno Schulz Festival. She teaches translation theory, Polish literature of 20th century, philosophy and aesthetics of Polish literature.
