Mitzner Piotr

(Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw), (born 1955), Prof. PhD hab., literature historian, biographer, editor, poet.  He graduated from the Theatre Studies Department at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. He was the Head of the “Koło Podkowy” community center. Since 1999 he has been a professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. Since 2000 he has held the position of the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Nowaja Polsza monthly. As a drafter he had his debut in 1967 in the Przyjaciel Młodego Spółdzielcy monthly, and as a poet – in 1972 at the Kurier Polski daily. His first poetic pamphlet Dusza z ciała wyleciała was published in 1980. His most recent works include Anna i Jarosław Iwaszkiewiczowie. Esej o małżeństwie (2000), Kto gra Antygonę? O tragicznych przyczynach i skutkach (2002), Na progu: doświadczenia religijne w tekstach Jarosława Iwaszkiewicza (2003), Gabinet cieni (2007), Biedny język. Szkice o kryzysie słowa i literaturze wojennej (2011), Jak znalazł (2014), Warszawski „Domek w Kołomnie” (2014). He also published the following books of poems: Myszoser (2000), Pustosz (2004), Podmiot domyślny (2008), Dom pod świadomością (2008), Niewidy (2009), Kropka (2011), W oku Kuku (2012), I po kropce (2013), and Wybiór (2015). His literary work has been awarded several prestigious prizes, for example: Nagroda Literackiej Fundacji Kultury and Nagroda Zeszytów Literackich im. Józefa Czapskiego.
