The centenary celebration of Tadeusz Różewicz in 2021 coincides with the seventh anniversary of his death. A distinguished poet, dramatist, and prose writer, Różewicz is recognized as one of the greatest innovators in Polish literature of the 20th century. He is also the author of diagnoses concerning the mechanisms that propel the individual and society that are considered particularly accurate. In the proposed volume we would like to put forward the question whether Różewicz’s literary texts remain valid; whether his diagnoses undertake historical and literary reflection on the way in which the poet’s voice-language and style inspire other authors. We will examine which areas are of the strongest influence, as well as dwell on the national and foreign reception of his oeuvre, taking into consideration i.a. the problem of translations of his poetry.
