2019 / Forgotten Inter-war Period

Tekstualia issue No. 2 (57) 2019

In recent years, anthropologists have peered at the inter-war period through more contemporary lenses, finding there sources of modern journalism (i.e. Goetel, Ossendowski, Janta-Połczyński etc.), paying attention to lesser known female writers (i.e. Vogel, Eker, Szpyrkówna, Naglerowa etc.), rediscovering children and teenage literature of that period as well as popular literature the interest in which is evident when considering such publishing initiatives like “Kryminały przedwojennej Warszawy” (Pre-war Warsaw Crime Storie). Still, many authors and events of that period remain in the shadows. Tekstualia would like to illuminate these dark spots.
