Since their conception, film criticism and film studies depended heavily upon the theoreitcal eddifice of literature studies, adapting and modifying it in order to grasp the essence of the cinematic language which also has an unwavering influence on literature. Tekstualia would like to invite readers to a discussion regarding the relationship between these two registers appearing not only in the original works of authors who were both writers and screen-writers and/or directors (i.e. T. Konwicki, S. Dygat, H. Pinter, K. Ishiguro) but also emerging in cinematic adaptations of their output. Theoretical reflection will be subsequently devoted to (un)translatability of terms, categories, strategies and manoeuvres utilized in both media.
