The 3 (54) issue of Tekstualia in 2018 takes on the question of comparison understood not only as a pre-reflexive cognitive mechanism or unconscious interception and verbalization of accidental similarities but also an epistemic activity undertaken deliberately, methodically and with a critical edge. Our interests will be aimed specifically at both the historic definition of philosophical and theoretical ventures into the topic (suffice to mention the works of Artistotle, Cicero, Quintilian, Descartes, Condillac, Hegel, Nietzsche etc.) as well as original methodological approaches which in due time may yield a deepening of knowledge in the field of comparative studies.
